This is really interesting to me because this is the first case I’m aware of where a person who is an experienced dev says that the LLMs actually provide a tangible productivity benefit. (Even with review and bug fixing included.) Maybe Linus could have said so (indirectly?) but I’m not sure.
The rest of the news I see here in the Fediverse filter bubble (though it’s more social than algorithmic) is about how worthless they are - plus the environmental and theft angles.
